Fostering Dialogue & Understanding

For our 50th anniversary, Virginia Humanities is partnering with institutions and organizations across the state to reach more Virginians in the communities where they live. These partnerships will amplify stories from different regions of Virginia and illustrate the ways the humanities bring communities together to foster dialogue and understanding.

This work began with the opening of two regional humanities centers: Virginia Humanities at UVA Wise (Southwest Virginia) and Virginia Humanities at WHRO (Hampton Roads). As we move forward, we plan to expand this regional focus through targeted endowments, partnerships, and additional centers.
